One of the most basic and fundamental principles of ecology is that diversity cultivates stability and prosperity in any environment. The St. Lawrence Land Trust believes that diversity is significant not only to the outdoor environment we aim to provide and protect, but also within our workplace environment. We strive to create a culture that values and welcomes all individuals and communities to our organization and properties regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or physical ability. By embracing, respecting, and valuing different standpoints, identities, and experiences, we believe that we can become better stewards of the watersheds of the St. Lawrence River valley through an intersectional lens of environmentalism. We recognize the traditional stewardship of this land by Haudenosaunee and, in particular, Mohawk people, and commit to working with the community at Akwesasne.  We will continue to reflect upon our organization’s actions and policies along with educating ourselves, so that we can collectively foster a more inclusive environment.
